What started out as a cloudy morning in Los Angeles cleared up just in time for an afternoon match at the Stubhub Center between the Los Angeles Galaxy and New England Revolution.
The match opened up in the 14th minute with a goal by Robbie Keane, who was back in the lineup for the LA Galaxy after two months out following knee surgery.
Ten minutes later the LA Galaxy doubled their lead with a stunning volley from the Mexican international, Giovani Dos Santos, just outside the penalty box.
In the second half, Robbie Keane scored another goal to put the LA Galaxy ahead 3-0.
Late in the second half New England gave the Galaxy a scare with two phenomenal goals by Kelyn Rowe and Juan Agudelo, but after coming on for Robbie Keane in the final minutes of the game, Steven Gerrard scored the final goal to secure the win for LA.
This win marked the Los Angeles Galaxy’s seventh undefeated match in a row and set an MLS record with 300 all-time regular season wins. The New England Revolution will try for three points May 14 against the Chicago Fire, while the LA Galaxy will visit the Philadelphia Union on May 11.
