In a matchup between the Colorado Rapids and LA Galaxy, the game was scoreless until its final moments, but the match wouldn’t end without a goal.

Rapids’ newcomer Marco Pappa gave the home side all three points with a clean strike on the volley in the 95th minute of their home opener.

Both teams struggled to score, with the LA Galaxy’s best chance coming off of an awarded free kick that resulted in Jelle Van Damme, who made his MLS debut, hitting the cross bar in the 30th minute.

The Rapids and the Galaxy are now 1-1-0 heading into the third week of the MLS season. The LA Galaxy will be playing host to the California Clasico against the San Jose Earthquakes next week, while the Rapids will be visiting D.C. United.
